Ceri Horwill is a Director in KPMG’s Risk Advisory team in Auckland. She is a specialist in IAS 39 and financial instruments accounting and has recently joined KPMG’s Treasury and Financial Risk Management team to work on wider treasury projects.
Over the last few months Ceri has been involved with providing advice to several major listed New Zealand Companies and several of the major banks. Ceri is also responsible for KPMG New Zealand’s roll out of the new financial instruments accounting standards including IFRS 9 and has recently hosted several seminars nationally to educate companies across New Zealand on this new standard.
Before moving to KPMG’s treasury team Ceri advised New Zealand entities on their transition to NZ IFRS as well as helping them to project manage that transition. Ceri provided specific accounting advice into large transactions and her work over the last six years has included major projects for fund managers, financial institutions and property trusts in New Zealand. In 2007, she was the author of KPMG’s New Zealand publication “NZIFRS 7 for Finance Companies”.
