Cam Stokes was in the
Police for 18 years (1985 to 2003) including 12 years in the Criminal
Investigation Branch. He worked at Henderson, Auckland Central and Otahuhu on a
variety of squads including the Auckland Drug Squad, the Organised Crime Unit
and the Criminal Intelligence Section. His last position was Detective Sergeant
in Charge of the Motorcycle Gang Unit.

He is an expert in the
field of illegal drugs and have wide ranging practical experience. He has given
expert evidence about controlled drugs since 1994. His experience with
methamphetamine ranges from the investigation of offences (including
manufacturing and selling "meth") to operating informants in the drug
scene. He has had many dealings with people involved in meth, from casual users
to major dealers and "cooks".
